Радиус воображаемой поверхности Земли, для которого траектория радиоволны прямолинейна при условии, что она проходит на той же высоте, что и криволинейный луч над реальной поверхностью. Для нормальной тропосферы эквивалентный радиус Земли равен 4/3 действительного радиуса.
